Cottage Brand | Integrated Brand System
We are thrilled to present a brand concept for a fun-loving, summer cottage rental based in Canada’s deep south, (we have that?!)
Most Canadians, endure a long winter spending most of our time indoors, with the occasional break to places like Florida and South Carolina. We look forward to long summer days spent up north, on a lake, in places like Muskoka. What many people don’t know is, we do have a different kind of vacation area in Ontario that feels a bit more like our winter getaways than our typical summer vacations up north. Nestled along the shores of Lake Erie you will find white sand beaches, sand dunes and Carolinian forests that house nature and wildlife that is typical of places much farther south. You’ll find ice cream shops, quant antique shops and barns, lavender fields and harbour towns with fish and chips and live music.
In creating the right brand for this cottage experience, we knew we needed to combine the woodsy feelings evoked by traditional Canadian quant cottage life that many dream of all winter, and move toward the more distinctive nature of the cottage’s Southern Ontario location. By intermingling the bright colours of the southern States and the beautiful locale, a place is created where people are charmed and intrigued, as it doesn’t fit the typical Canadian cottage vacation.
Oh and the name! I should mention the name! The idea for “Fresh Lemonade”, takes visitors outside and helps them to imagine relaxing outside in the beautiful heat of summer and cooling off with a refreshing glass of lemonade in hand.
Brand Personality:
Everything we communicate about the brand should remain on target and match the persona created for this space. We explored what the brand should be, and what the brand isn’t, staying true to what makes them, them. From that, emerged the vision for the brand style identity.
Vision:
Here's the mood board. I wanted to go with a really bright, beachy and colourful look and one that would stand stand out from the relaxing vibes of many other beach houses. A really stripped back identity that would put the feeling of being on vacation centre stage and ensure that the whole thing felt very fun and fresh.

Strong, bright and impactful design with lots of photography to help people picture the setting they plan to book.
